Life in the moment... Living fully in the now!
Having practiced as a Marriage & Family Therapist for 15 years, I have heard many of the mistaken perceptions people have about what makes a full, rich, life, overflowing with happiness, passion, and integrity. Many people believe a good life is difficult to create. Not true! In helping people understand the ways they sabotage their lives it has become clear to me that the problem is more a lack of information about how to proceed than anything else. Thus my desire to help people "see" the path to greater happiness, through working with them in a coaching relationship!
Unlike therapy, which often deals with serious, pervasive emotional trauma and distress, individuals who might benefit from coaching are often doing "just fine" in life, but feel something is missing at a deeper level. They wonder how to get even more from life and to feel a stronger sense of connection with family, friends, as well as to their own spirit!
I feel a strong commitment to coaching individuals in bringing joy, laughter, and purpose to their lives through a "good hard look" at what they are doing that is working for them and what is not! Only when we see our own mischief in what we are creating can we make a conscious decision to do something different and to feel the personal power we can access in our lives. Sometimes it's truly hard to see the ways we keep ourselves "stuck" when we are sitting smack dab in the middle of what we do!
My training is in the field of social work, having completed a Masters in Social Work 15 years ago. I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist. Both of these fields of study focus a great deal on being able to see any system as a highly integrated whole with interacting parts which all work cooperatively and predictably together and are impacted by change in any part of the system. Whew! That's a long-winded way of saying "We are all one!"
We impact each other's lives and are a necessary part of each other's lives. We are social creatures and thrive on relationships with each other. So let's learn how to "play nice", respect ourselves and each other, learn to practice patience and compassion, and value our time with ourselves and others, realizing our potential to create the miracle of a fearless life, and a future overflowing with love, laughter, and serenity. The possibilities for enriching our lives and living in harmony with each other are truly endless!
